At Thai Son S.P, we specialise in sustainable sportswear and high‑quality recycled polyester clothing made in Vietnam. My name is Sim, and I manage our knitwear manufacturing operations in Ho Chi Minh City. For over 20 years, our family‑owned business has been supplying global brands with premium knit fabrics and responsibly made garments.
Our recycled polyester sportswear fabric, developed in 2020, has become one of our most requested sustainable materials. Clients appreciate its soft hand‑feel, durability, and reliable colourfastness, ideal for brands seeking eco‑friendly performance wear.

If you’re looking for sustainable sportswear manufacturers in Vietnam, we’re here to support your sourcing, fabric development, and garment production needs. Contact us anytime for swatches, pricing, and sampling.

Is recycled polyester safe?
Yes! Recycled polyester is considered safe for clothing and sportswear. It goes through strict purification, melting, and spinning processes before becoming yarn again.
Does recycled polyester shrink?
Recycled polyester behaves just like virgin polyester: it does not shrink easily, is wrinkle‑resistant, and maintains its shape well, even after repeated washes.
Our Fabric Capabilities in Vietnam
Whether you need classic basics or custom-engineered recycled polyester activewear fabrics, our team can develop it for your brand.
Options for Sourcing Recycled Polyester Sportswear Fabric
We provide three flexible sourcing options depending on your certification, trade agreement, and product requirements.
Option 1: Buying Recycled Polyester or Blended Yarns from Vietnam
Best for brands needing CPTPP-compliant (yarn-forward) products. Available blends include:
- 60% BCI Cotton / 40% Recycled Polyester
- 60% Cotton / 40% Recycled Polyester
- 60% Cotton / 40% Unifi Repreve® Polyester
- 48% Organic Cotton / 40% Recycled Polyester / 12% Recycled Cotton
These yarns are ideal for creating sustainable sportswear Vietnam products with full local production from knitting to dyeing. Fabrics such as Single Jersey, Pique, Rib, Double Knit can be knitted, dyed (with functional finishing such as Wicking, Antimicrobial treatment, UV sun protection 50+, Antistatic treatment, Adaptive, Waterproof) in Vietnam.

Option 2: Imported Recycled Polyester Yarns (China, Etc.)
Suitable for GSP Form A and EVFTA requirements (fabric must be knitted and dyed in Vietnam).
Popular recycled polyester blends include:
- 51% Recycled Polyester / 49% Acrylic
- 52% Recycled Polyester / 34% Acrylic / 10% Nylon / 4% Spandex
- 84% Recycled Polyester / 16% Linen
- 96% Recycled Polyester / 4% Wool
All can be knitted and finished locally with performance treatments for your sportswear line.

Option 3: Imported Recycled Polyester Fabrics (China, Korea, Taiwan)
Best for brands needing advanced R&D, special knit structures, or high‑performance technical fabrics. While Vietnam handles common knits well (Jersey, Piqué, Rib, Double Knit), more complex structures are better sourced from countries with advanced textile technologies.
General Information About Recycled Polyester
Recycled polyester is created from post-consumer bottle flakes, textile waste, and industrial polyester scraps. During spinning, dope dyeing can be applied, which significantly reduces water consumption, CO₂ emissions, and dye usage compared to traditional dyeing methods. This makes rPET one of the most scalable and environmentally responsible fibers for sustainable sportswear today.
